Wizards Forward Set to Join Mustangs in the Fall of 2017

BEDFORD, MA -- Houston Wilson, a forward for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to the Stevenson University for the Fall of 2017. In his first season with the team, the '96 forward has 26 points in 30 games for the Wizards.

"We acquired Wilson in the middle of the season from the Northeast Generals in NAHL," said Wizards head coach Freddy Meyer. "The change of scenery has been beneficial for both the team and for the player. Houston has been a key offensive threat ever since arriving, and his impact has led to a big turnaround for our team."

After bringing in ten EHL players this season, Stevenson so far has recruited Wilson and Chris Best (Philadelphia Little Flyers) for this upcoming Fall. The Stevenson Mustangs are currently playing in the ECAC West this season, but that's set to change when Wilson and Best arrive. Stevenson will be joining the newly formed United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC), which kicks off its inaugural season this Fall.

"I'm extremely excited to become a part of Stevenson University's hockey team," said Wilson "They are a program that is still new, but is going in the right direction to become a competitor. I am also excited about the opportunities that the school will offer me both academically and athletically. The Wizards were a big part of my recruitment process. They put me in positions to succeed and be seen by schools, but they also helped me to improve my game on the ice. The advice that I have received from Coach Freddy and Coach Kory, is advice that I will be able to use throughout the rest of my career. I couldn't thank them enough for giving me a chance to be a big part of the Wizards, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to play for such a great organization. I am excited about what the future holds, and know I could not be where I am today without the support from the Wizards."

Wilson and the Wizards enter the postseason as the #7 seed in the North Conference, giving them a first round matchup with the Valley Jr. Warriors.
