Organization Heading in New Direction

LACONIA, NH -- As we move along in the month of April, all of our EHL organizations begin shifting gears towards the 2017-18 season. For the New England Wolves, this Summer is extra important, as they look to build off what both of their teams accomplished during the 2016-17 season.

  • Currently the Wolves have 7 NCAA College Placements from the 2016-17 season.
  • This season, the Premier team ended the Philadelphia Little Flyers' winning streak at 30 games.
  • Aleck Forcier was named the Defenseman of the Year in the 19U Elite Division.
  • The Wolves 19U Elite team also set a franchise record with 24 regular season wins, and then followed things up with the first two playoff wins in team history.
  • The organization raised over $15,000 for the Cure Starts Now at the JBT Benefit Game.
  • The organization dedicated over 1000 Volunteer man hours to Community Service in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.

A key force in the Wolves' success was Andrew Trimble, who will be taking over as the Premier Head Coach after three seasons behind the bench for the Elite team.

Trimble is a native of Manasquan, NJ and former NCAA hockey player at SUNY-Buffalo State. Trimble is also the Owner/Head Instructor for Scoring Concepts LLC (www.scoringconcepts.com), a New Hampshire-based hockey training business that offers camps, clinics, private training, and tournament teams throughout the eastern seaboard. In his three-year run as Elite Head Coach, Coach Trimble’s teams rebuilt Laconia as a junior hockey destination. With an emphasis on community involvement, activism, outreach and personal accountability; Trimble's teams set (2015) and then re-set (2017), the highest win totals by a USA Hockey Junior Program in Laconia in 12 years. During that time he was a League “Coach of the Year” finalist twice and coached in the EHL Elite All-Star Game (2016). Trimble's teams never missed out on the postseason.

“I am excited about the challenge of re-branding our organization and showcasing what works in Laconia, by finding talented, but also gritty, tough-minded players who are committed to the far-reaching goals of the organization. I can’t thank Steve Jacobs enough for this opportunity,” said Trimble.

Also new for next season, the Wolves have added the following coaches and personnel to their staff:

  • Tim Kunes (Premier Assistant and Elite Head Coach)
  • Dillon Smith (Assistant Coach)
  • Dave Pollak (Peak Performance Coach)
  • Mike Potenza (Midget Program Head Coach)
  • Zach Lubinski (Marketing - Lubinski Media)

The busy summer  for the Wolves also includes facility improvements that will make the Wolves “Campus Environment” home rink even more accommodating.

  • A $100,000 improvement to the Merrill Fay Arena’s Refrigeration and Ice Quality System.
  • Construction of a classroom style video room in the Wolves home rink for their video review and pre-scouting sessions.
  • Introduction of the “Drivn” app for player/coach organization and communication.

“Andrew is a strong teacher and administrator who is an effective communicator, and is focused on building a culture focused on player well-being and success on and off the ice. I have observed him gain the respect of his players through his competence and personal example. He makes sure his teams enjoy working hard and feel prepared and equipped to get the job done” said Wolves owner and general manager Steve Jacobs.
