Little Flyers Forward Makes NCAA Decision for the Fall of 2017

ASTON, PA -- Peter Hatton, a forward for the Philadelphia Little Flyers, has committed to Tufts University for the Fall of 2017. In two seasons with the Little Flyers, Hatton tallied 103 points in 105 total games, joining a handful of players to reach the 100-point career plateau while playing in the EHL.

“We are very proud of Peter and his commitment to Tufts University," said Little Flyers head coach and general manager Rocky Russo. "Peter has worked extremely hard for the last two years towards this opportunity. The academics and athletics that Tufts provides is exactly what Peter was looking for. He will be an excellent addition to Tufts both on the ice and in the classroom.”

The Tufts University Jumbos compete in the New England Small School Athletic Conference (NESCAC), a conference with a very strong reputation for its academics.

Here is a complete list of all the NESCAC schools:

Hatton is excited about his opportunity to play in the NESCAC, and can't wait to get things started this Fall.

“I am honored to be able to attend such a prestigious University with a great hockey program. I know this would not have been possible without a lot of help along the way. First, I would like to thank my family for their support over the years and always believing in me. I would also like to thank the Leuthold's for inviting me to stay with them and making my two years of juniors such a memorable experience. Thank you to all of my friends and teammates over the years for their continued support and for pushing me to be a better player. Thank you to the Giacobbo family and the entire Little Flyers organization for providing us with the means to succeed. I would also like to thank all of the coaches I have had throughout my career, especially Coach Russo, Coach Lewis, and Coach Catron for believing in me and helping me develop into the player I am today. Lastly I would like to thank Coach Norton, for giving me this opportunity to play at the next level. Tufts is a great University and I can't wait to join the Jumbos next year,” said Hatton.
