Jr. Flyers Forward Set to Join Golden Flyers in the Fall of 2017

WEST CHESTER, PA -- Casey Kubara, a forward for the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers, has committed to Nazareth College for the Fall of 2017. In his first season with the Jr. Flyers, Kubara tallied 37 points in 51 total games, including a pair of points in the EHL Finals. The Jr. Flyers head coach Jerry Domish knows how important the '96 was to his team being crowned Premier Division Champions.

“It’s an interesting story really," said Domish. "A former player of mine called me and told me about Casey. I took his word for it and didn’t know what I was getting. When he came in I thought he had a lot of skill, but as the season progressed he developed as a player and I got way more than I expected when the end of the season came. He is a very good skater and has great size. When he attacks the net and shoots, he has a great shot. Heading to Nazareth next year I hope he keeps on shooting, because if he does, then he’ll be a very good player. I wish him the best.”

Kubara was a key part in the Jr. Flyers coming back from a 2-1 deficit, to win the title in overtime of Game 5. On many occasions the Jr. Flyers had their backs against the wall, but simply never stopped fighting. Kubara knows the whole experience will have him ready to go this Fall at Nazareth.

“I feel like being with the Jr. Flyers has given me the eagerness and hunger that you need to compete in college hockey," said Kubara. "All the little things in junior hockey like winning your battles, fore-checking, and back-checking; all of those things are key and the transition will be easier now that I've played with the Jr. Flyers in the EHL. I loved it, and it was awesome.”
