Wizards Defenseman Joining Teammate this Fall

BEDFORD, MA -- Matt Cappucci, a defenseman for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to Stevenson University for the Fall of 2017. In his first season with the Wizards, the '97 defenseman tallied 13 points in 48 total games.

"Matt is one of the hardest working players that I have ever coached," said Wizards head coach Freddy Meyer. "He battles for every puck sent his way, and continued to improve immensely as this past season progressed. Kory [Falite] and I were hoping for another season with Matt, but we couldn't be more proud of his commitment. I can't wait to watch him continue to develop at Stevenson."

Cappucci isn't the only Wizard joining the Mustangs this Fall, as Houston Wilson also made his commitment to Stevenson. Cappucci is excited to have a familiar face in the locker room and is extremely grateful for his time with the Wizards.

"Coach Meyer, Coach Falite and Coach Peacock gave me all the tools available to succeed," said Cappucci. "I can not thank them enough or all my teammates enough for helping me achieve my goal of playing college hockey. I was fortunate to play for an amazing coaching staff and a great organization."

Heading into their inaugural season (2016-17), the Stevenson Mustangs brought in 10 EHL players. With the first in the books, the Mustangs now have the foundation for their program. This Fall, Cappucci, Wilson, and Chris Best (Philadelphia Little Flyers), represent the latest EHL commits, hoping to make an immediate impact when they arrive.
