Ochterbeck, Lewandoski, and Pelke Earn EHL Weekly Honors

BOSTON, MA -- As the temperatures start to drop slowly, the number of games each week in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) continues to rise. This past weekend in the EHL featured 12 games over four days, and 3/4 of the teams in action.

The EHL is pleased to announce that Alex Ochterbeck (Philadelphia Little Flyers), Trevor Lewandoski (Philadelphia Little Flyers), and Travis Pelke (Philadelphia Revolution) have been named the TSR Hockey Stars of the Week.

Another big week in the EHL starts tomorrow and features 16 games through Monday. The next set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Week will be released on Tuesday, September 26th at 9:00am. Catch the #Eshow action all season long on HockeyTV.

Forward - Alex Ochterbeck (Philadelphia Little Flyers)

Led by Ochterbeck, the Little Flyers skated their way to a weekend sweep of the New York Bobcats, extending their winning streak to four games to start the season. After notching four points the first weekend of the year, the '97 forward doubled his production with four goals and four assists in two games against the Bobcats. Back for his 2nd season with the Little Flyers, the native of Texas will be leaned on heavily to produce to the same level as last season. This past year, Ochterbeck tallied 43 points in 55 total games. While it's still early, Ochterbeck is on pace to surpass last year's numbers, which would be big for the Little Flyers in what is shaping out to be a very deep Mid-Atlantic Division.

Defenseman - Trevor Lewandoski (Philadelphia Little Flyers)

Keeping with the Philadelphia theme, Lewandoski is the 3rd Little Flyer to earn a Star of the Week honor joining Ochterbeck and Brendahn Brawley (TSR Hockey Stars of the Week #1). Back for his 3rd season with the Little Flyers, and serving as a captain this season, the '97 defenseman scored a goal and dished out a pair of assists this past weekend. In four games to start the season, Lewandoski already has a goal and five assists, which has him way ahead of pace compared to the previous two years. Last season he finished with nine total points, and the year before was eight total points. Lewandoski and the Little Flyers will face their biggest test of the season this weekend when they take on the Philadelphia Revolution on Saturday, and the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers on Sunday.

Goaltender - Travis Pelke (Philadelphia Revolution)

Between the pipes this past weekend, the EHL saw a number of solid performances, and is pleased to recognize Pelke after the Revolution swept the Connecticut RoughRiders. The '97 netminder was in goal for both games, stopping 37 of the 38 shots that he faced over the weekend. Pelke is now 3-0-0 with 1.00 GAA and 1 shutout to start the year. Back for his 2nd season with Revolution, Pelke has been tabbed the "#1" in net, and is well on his way to surpassing the six wins that he racked up during the 2016-17 season. The native of New Jersey will look to stay hot against the Philadelphia Little Flyers on Saturday, and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights on Sunday.

Honorable Mention - Joey Savel (Philadelphia Little Flyers)

Most weeks, an eight-point weekend will earn you a Star of the Week honor, that is unless your teammate posts a similar stat line. Savel scored three goals and dished out five assists this past weekend, helping his team to a weekend sweep of the Bobcats. Back for another season in the EHL, Savel has five goals and six assists in the first four games of the season.

Honorable Mention - Nolan Egbert (Boston Jr. Rangers)

Egbert caught the attention of many teams across the EHL last season, as he stood on his head multiple times throughout the year. The trend continued on Sunday, as the '97 stopped 37 of the 38 shots he faced, and the Rangers won their season opener by the score of 2-1 over the New Hampshire Avalanche. The Rangers are in the middle of four straight road games to start the season.

Honorable Mention - Jake Fuss (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights)

Just like Savel, most times a six-point weekend that includes a hat-trick, will earn a player a Star of the Week honor. After a tough opening weekend, Fuss and the Knights turned the tables and swept the New York Applecore. Fuss looks like he will be the offensive leader for the Knights this season, with six goals and two assists to start the year.
