Norby, Campbell, and Brawley Earn EHL Weekly Honors

BOSTON, MA -- Mark that as 1 showcase down and 3 to go for the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). This past weekend all 16 EHL teams met at Rodman Arena for the first 2-day showcase of the season. When all was said and done, 14 of the 16 total games were decided by just 2 goals or less. The parity is strong once again this season, and this past weekend was the latest example of that.

The EHL is pleased to announce that Zach Norby (Boston Jr. Rangers), Ryan Campbell (Walpole Express), and Brendahn Brawley (Philadelphia Little Flyers) have been named the TSR Hockey Stars of the Week.

The week ahead is relatively quiet across the EHL, with the main highlight coming on Saturday afternoon when Team EHL takes on Umass Boston. The next set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Week will be released on Monday, October 23rd at 4:00pm. Catch the #Eshow action all season long on HockeyTV.

FORWARD - Zach Norby (Boston Jr. Rangers)

Norby and the Rangers won both of their games this past weekend at the October Showcase. The '98 forward tallied a goal and 4 assists in the pair of victories, increasing his overall point total up to 12 for the season. Norby was involved in 5 of the 6 total goals that the Rangers scored this past weekend, and they'll be looking for more of that as they battle to stay at the top of the Boston Division. The week ahead for the Rangers includes big matchups with the Walpole Express on Wednesday and the New Hampshire Avalanche on Sunday.

DEFENSEMAN - Ryan Campbell (Walpole Express)

There was nobody better than Campbell this past weekend on the blue line. The '99 from Scituate, Massachusetts dished out 5 assists as the Express won both of their games to keep themselves just 2 points back of the Boston Jr. Rangers for the top spot in the Boston Division. Campbell has turned some heads in his first season in the EHL, as the young defenseman has already racked up 3 goals and 10 assists in his first 10 games. The week ahead is busy for Campbell as he was also named to represent Team EHL on Saturday against Umass Boston. Outside of Saturday's exhibition matchup, Walpole also draws a key meeting with the Rangers on Wednesday and then they will face-off with the East Coast Wizards in a home-and-home series on Friday and Sunday.

GOALTENDER - Brendahn Brawley (Philadelphia Little Flyers)

For the 2nd time this season, Brawley has been tabbed as the Goalie of the Week in the EHL (First Honor - TSR Hockey Stars of the Week #1). The '98 was solid between the pipes this past weekend for the Little Flyers, stopping 60 of the 63 shots that he faced at the October Showcase. To cap things off, the Pennsylvania native made it a perfect 3 for 3 by shutting out the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers by the score of 3-0 yesterday afternoon. Since losing to the New Hampshire Avalanche on October 7th, Brawley has won 4 straight starts, all while lowering his GAA down to 1.86 and leading the league with 4 shutouts so far this season. There is only 1 game left for Philadelphia this week, as Brawley will look to stay hot against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights on Thursday.

Honorable Mentions - McDonald and Wright

For this week's honorable mentions, the EHL would like to recognize a pair of hat-tricks that paved the way to victory.

Starting with Kyle McDonald, who scored a natural hat-trick for the Vermont Lumberjacks on Friday against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. Toss in an assist as well, and McDonald was the catalyst behind a 4-2 win for this team.

While Ryan Campbell led the way on the point for the Walpole Express, Eric Wright made the noise up front. After being held off the scoresheet in the first game of the weekend, Wright bounced back with a hat-trick against the Connecticut Oilers on Saturday. Included in Wright's big deal was the game-winner in a 7-1 victory.
