BOSTON, MA -- After spending the better part of two seasons in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP), Matt Bloomer made his commitment to Castleton University late this past Spring.

The '97 defenseman just proved his point rather quickly, as he was named the New England Hockey Conference's (NEHC) Rookie of the Week on Monday. Bloomer posted a team-high four points with two goals and two assists to earn MVP honors of the WSYB/Catamount Radio Invitational Championship, a tournament that his Spartans won.
