Sorabella, Magill-Diaz, and Boncore Earn EHL Weekly Honors

BOSTON, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) continued play this past week, with action on every day and 21 total games on the docket. With every organization hitting the ice, there were plenty of worthy candidates for our weekly honors.

The EHL is pleased to announce that Danny Sorabella (Boston Jr. Rangers), Nick Magill-Diaz (Philadelphia Little Flyers), and Brendan Boncore (New England Wolves) have been named the TSR Hockey Stars of the Week.

As we turn the page for a new week, there's a huge slate of games on the horizon. The week ahead includes six games from Tuesday to Saturday, and then third showcase of the season. All 16 teams will be in action next Monday and Tuesday (December 17th and 18th), in the final set of games before the winter break. The next set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Week will be released following the showcase on Tuesday, December 19th. Catch the #Eshow action all season long on HockeyTV.

FORWARD - Danny Sorabella (Boston Jr. Rangers)

Sorabella and the Rangers won all three of their games this past week, moving themselves up to the top spot in the #Eshow Power Rankings. The perfect week also extends the team's winning streak up to five games, as they currently hold a five-point lead over the Walpole Express for the top spot in the Boston Division standings. Sorabella was the offensive catalyst this past week for the Rangers, tallying eight total points in the three games. The '98 from Reading, MA notched five goals and dished out three assists running his point total up to 33 for the season. Sorabella currently leads his team in scoring and will look to stay hot as the Rangers take on the East Coast Wizards on Wednesday, and then the Connecticut Oilers and New York Bobcats Royals at the December Showcase.

DEFENSEMAN - Nick Magill-Diaz (Philadelphia Little Flyers)

Magill-Diaz and the Little Flyers also won all three of their games this past week, improving their overall record up to 22-6-0 for the season. Philadelphia's 44 points currently puts them nine points back of the Philadelphia Revolution for the top spot in the Mid-Atlantic Division standings. Magill-Diaz dished out five total assists over the week, running his season point total up to 31 for the year. The '97 from Clawson, MI leads all defenseman in scoring in the EHL, and has been hot of late, with at least a point in six of his last seven games. Magill-Diaz will look to continue to lead his team on the blue line as they battle the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers on Wednesday, and then the Vermont Lumberjacks and Valley Jr. Warriors at the December Showcase.

GOALTENDER - Brendan Boncore (New England Wolves)

Boncore and the Wolves split their weekend set of games in Pennsylvania. The '97 from Oakland, MI was in net on Saturday, for his team's 2-1 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. Boncore was stellar between the pipes, stopping 37 of the 38 shots his faced, all while earning his 2nd victory of the season. The Wolves are currently just two points out of the final playoff spot in the North Conference. Boncore will look to help his team erase that deficit, with showcase games against the Philadelphia Revolution on Sunday, and another battle with the Knights on Monday.

Honorable Mentions - Delbridge, Tierney, and Parsons

This week, the EHL would like to recognize three players with honorable mentions.

We'll start with Dakota Delbridge of the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers, who turned aside 35 shots in his team's 3-1 victory over the Connecticut RoughRiders on Sunday. The win is Delbridge's third of the season, as he lowers his GAA down to 3.02.

If it wasn't for his linemate, Danny SorabellaRyan Tierney very likely could have been this week's Forward of the Week in the EHL. The '97 racked up six points of his own, in three wins for the Boston Jr. Rangers.

Last, but not least, Mitchell Parsons tallied six points to his name in three games for the RoughRiders. Parsons' stellar week included five goals, as he now has 21 tallies so far this season.
