Wizards Forward Set to Join Blue Devils in the Fall of 2018

BEDFORD, MA -- Matt Letmanski, a forward for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to SUNY Fredonia for the Fall of 2018.  The '98 is in his second season with the Wizards, and has tallied an even 12 goals and 12 assists through his first 24 games.

"We brought Matt in shortly after the season started last year," said Wizards head coach and general manager Freddy Meyer. "Kory [Falite] and I instantly noticed offensive skill that he possessed, and it has been a pleasure to watch him develop with the Wizards. Matt has one of the best shots in the entire league, and we can't wait to follow him as he begins the next chapter of his career at Fredonia."

In total, Letmanski has played in 70 games with the Wizards to date, and he owns a cumulative average of 0.81 points per game. The 6'4 forward uses his size to his advantage and plays in all situations for the team. Letmanski took some time to reflect on his decision, and thank all of those who helped him along the way.

"First and foremost I have to thank my family," said Letmanski. "My parents have given up so much so that I could play the game. All the time spent to and from the rink, all the money that could have been spent on themselves, and all the support to be the best I could is amazing. My siblings also were huge in pitching in and driving me around when they had their own things to do. I would also like to thank all my coaches throughout the years. There is 1 coach that stands out from my early years, Coach Berens, who helped me develop my skill and taught me a lot about that part of the game. Then Freddy helped me see the game at a higher level and what to look for in certain plays. Also Kory, being a goal scorer, helped me be more aggressive and aware in scoring opportunities, and Adrian pushing me and the whole team in the weight room definitely has had an impact on my game. We play in a top-notch facility, and having 24/7 access let's me just work on whatever I need. The Wizards are a great fit for me and I'm excited to move on to college hockey next year."
