EHL All-Star Defenseman Set to Join Cardinals Next Fall

DIX HILLS, NY -- Matthew Araujo, a defenseman for the New York Bobcats, has committed to SUNY Plattsburgh for the Fall of 2018. The '97 is in his first season in the EHL, and has tallied 24 points in 28 total games so far this year.

“Matt is a prime example of a young man not willing to allow anything to get in the way of his dreams," said New York general manager John Zerillo. "His work ethic, passion, and dedication were an inspiration for our entire team, coaches, and players alike. He is going to be an outstanding college hockey defenseman."

Araujo joins a strong list of EHL players that have moved on to SUNY Plattsburgh. The New York native is following in the footsteps of last year's MVP, Richard McCartney (Philadelphia Revolution), who already has 8 goals in his freshmen season with the Cardinals. Bob Emery's team is always a tough competitor in the SUNYAC, and Araujo is looking forward to being a part of it.
