Avalanche Netminder Joins Group of Future Bears

HOOKSETT, NH -- Michael Paglucca, a goaltender for the New Hampshire Avalanche, has committed to SUNY Potsdam for the Fall of 2018. The '97 netminder is the 4th EHL player to commit to join the Bears next Fall, joining his teammates Ethan Clark and Ben Thompson, and Walpole Express defenseman Chris Gratton.

"Pags had a lot of college opportunities as his play has been speaking for itself obviously," said Avalanche head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "He has been consistent throughout the season and has done a good job in his second season in the EHL. I think he has a great opportunity to do some great things in college hockey and for SUNY Potsdam. I am very proud of Mike and I think he is going to be very good over the next four seasons of college hockey."

As Cerrella mentioned, this is Paglucca's 2nd season in the EHL, and the 6'4 goaltender is 15-5-0 through his first 20 starts. The native of Reading, MA spent the past 2 seasons with the Boston Jr. Rangers, as he played at the EHL level last year, and was a key member of the Rangers' 2015-16 Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Championship team. Through 3 seasons of junior hockey, Paglucca has both learned and developed a great deal, and he took some time to reflect on how he got to this point.

"I am very proud and excited about my decision to attend college and play college hockey at Potsdam," said Paglucca. "Their facilities are amazing, with a state of the art locker room and a very nice on campus rink. I liked my visit and it helped me make my decision to attend there next Fall. A big thank you to Coach Cerrella for helping me through this process, as playing college hockey was my ultimate goal going into this season and he helped me achieve that. A thank you also to [Assistant Coach/Team Owner] Mario Martiniello for having confidence in me this season and making me better on and off the ice. I would also like to thank my family for the continued support throughout my hockey career."
