Rangers Forward Joining Vikings this Fall

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Ryan Tierney, a forward for the Boston Jr. Rangers, has committed to Salem State for the Fall of 2018. Tierney is in his second season with the Rangers' EHL team, and to date, has tallied 41 points in 78 career games.

"We are very happy for Ryan," said Rangers head coach and general manager Rich DeCaprio. "His development over the past 2 seasons with us has really shown, and we are looking forward to following his college career for the next 4 years at Salem. They are getting a tremendous person."

Tierney has displayed both his scoring and playmaking ability in his second season in the EHL, and the native of Methuen, MA took some time to reflect on his decision.

“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to continue my athletic and academic career at Salem State University," said Tierney. "I would like to thank Coach Decaprio, Coach Blair, and the rest of the Rangers organization for a great 2 years, and helping me develop to the player I am today. I would especially like to thank my family, friends, and teammates for supporting me every step of the way. I’m very excited to become a Viking!"
