Seahawks All-Star Set to Join Soaring Eagles this Fall

HYANNIS, MA -- Matthew Stewart, a forward for the Total Athletics Seahawks, has committed to Elmira College for the Fall of 2018. The '97 is in his first season in the EHL, and has 17 points in 41 total games to date.

"Matt has done a very nice job coming to a first year program and being a leader on and off the ice. Matt has been very active in the community and has really helped the team grow as a program," said Seahawks head coach and general manager Bill Zaniboni.

Outside of being the leader for the Seahawks, he was also the team's representative on this year's EHL All-Star Team. Stewart and Team EHL represented the league well that afternoon in October, and the '97 had a teammate that day that will once again be his teammate this Fall. Nick Grinvalds of the Boston Jr. Rangers also recently committed to join the Soaring Eagles. Stewart took some time to reflect on the season, and thank those who helped him reach his goal.

"I am happy to announce my commitment to continue my hockey career at Elmira College," said Stewart. "I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me along the way. The TA Seahawks coaching staff and ownership has provided me with every tool necessary to mature as a person and hockey player."
