Little Flyers Forward Set to Join New Program this Fall

ASTON, PA -- Ryan Galvin, a forward for the Philadelphia Little Flyers, has committed to Wilkes University for the Fall of 2018. The '97 is in his first season in the EHL, and has tallied 38 points in 44 games to date.

“Our staff is very proud of Ryan for committing to Wilkes University,” said Little Flyers head coach and general manager George Lewis. “Ryan came to us this season with an abundance of experience and has gone above and beyond our expectations. He has played in every situation for us this season and has succeeded in all of them.”

Wilkes University is located in Wilkes-Barre, PA and they will kick-off their inaugural season at the Division III level this Fall. The Colonels are set to join the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC), and Galvin is looking forward to being a part of the foundation of the program.

“I'm really excited to commit to Wilkes University to continue my academic and hockey career," said Galvin. "I want to thank Coach Riley for giving me this great opportunity; I can't wait to be a part of the new program and join the Colonel community. I'd like to thank my parents for supporting me all my life and giving me every opportunity to keep playing hockey. I'd like to thank all my coaches who have helped me get to this point including Coach St. Jacques in Atlanta, Coach Warde and Coach Moore at Bridgton Academy.  Lastly, I want to especially thank Coach Lewis, Coach Narrigan, Coach Catron, The Giacobbo Family, and the entire Little Flyers organization for giving me the opportunity to play here. This season with the Little Flyers has really helped me develop as player and as a person. I look forward to getting on campus in September and becoming a Colonel.”

Galvin and the Little Flyers will wrap-up the regular season at home with two games next weekend against the New York Bobcats Royals and another pair of games the following weekend against the Connecticut RoughRiders.
