Seahawks Defenseman Set to Join Spartans this Fall

HYANNIS, MA -- Cory Ellerton, a defenseman for the Total Athletics Seahawks, has committed to Castleton University for the Fall of 2018. The '97 is in his first season in the EHL, and has 13 points in 39 total games to date.

"Cory is a big, smooth-skating defenseman that has a great compete level and sense of accountability," said Seahawks head coach and general manager Bill Zaniboni. "He has dedicated a lot of hours to the community since moving to Cape Cod, in elementary schools and youth practices. We are very excited for Cory and his family on the next step toward an education and hockey career."

Ellerton has been a leader for his team on the blue line, playing the highest number of minutes each and every night. The Canadian took some time to reflect on the past year, and thank all of those who helped him along the way.

"I'm proud to announce my commitment to play college hockey at Castleton University," said Ellerton. "First of all I'd like to thank my parents and brother for supporting me and pushing me to be the person I am today. Second off I'd like to thank my previous coaches for pushing me to be the player I am today. I would also like to thank everyone that have supported me throughout my career. I look forward to being a student athlete at Castleton University for the next four years, GO SPARTANS!"
