Little Flyers All-Star Forward Set to Joins Colonels this Fall

ASTON, PA -- Alex Ochterbeck, a forward for the Philadelphia Little Flyers, has committed to Curry College for the Fall of 2018. Ochterbeck has had one of the best offensive single seasons in league history. In 37 games to date, Ochterbeck has scored 40 goals and added 37 assists for 77 total points. Back on December 18th, Ochterbeck set a new single season record for goals, as he found the back of the net for the 37th time in the 2017-18 campaign.

“Our staff is extremely proud of Alex on his commitment to Curry College,” said Little Flyers head coach and general manager George Lewis. “Alex has worked very hard during his two seasons with us and this opportunity is a great fit for him. After speaking to Curry’s head coach T.J. Manastersky, we feel they are very excited to have Alex, which is important because he is a special player.”

Ochterbeck currently leads the EHL in several offensive categories including Goals (40), Power-Play Goals (14), and Short-Handed Goals (5). In 92 career games as a Little Flyer, Ochterbeck has scored 61 goals and handed out 59 assists for 120 total points. The native of Texas was also an All-Star this season, and had a pair of assists back in October when Team EHL took on the UMass Boston Beacons. The '97 took some time to reflect on his decision, and thank all of those who helped him along the way.

“First, I want to thank my family for their constant support," said Ochterbeck. "I would like to thank the Little Flyers coaching staff of George Lewis, Mike Narrigan and Mark Catron. I’d also like to thank the Giacobbo family and the entire Little Flyers organization for everything they’ve done for me. This wouldn’t be possible without my teammates and various coaches throughout the years; I’d also like to thank Coach Russo. I’m excited to be attending Curry College and to be playing college hockey. I am looking forward to getting on the ice and playing for Coach Manastersky next season.”
