Avalanche Defenseman Set to Join Rams this Fall

HOOKSETT, NH -- Kevin Cleary, a defenseman for the New Hampshire Avalanche, has committed to Framingham State for the Fall of 2018. The '97 is in his first season in the EHL, and the stay at home defenseman has four points to his name through 27 games to date.

"Kevin has been solid for us so far this season," said Avalanche head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "He plays the game according to his strengths; he plays smart and simple and does not complicate the game. He leaves everything on the ice in games and in practices and is going to bring depth to the Rams blueline. I know he has worked very hard to achieve this goal of playing NCAA college hockey and he has accomplished that and I could not be more happy for him. I wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future."

With just two regular season games remaining in his junior hockey career, Cleary will look to end this chapter on a high note as the Avalanche head into the postseason. The native of West Chester, PA took some time to reflect and give thanks.

"I can not thank the Avalanche organization enough for the support and opportunity they have given me this season," said Cleary. "Coach Cerrella and Coach Martiniello have helped me mature into a better person on and off the ice. They run a very high class organization from top to bottom and I could not be happier that I chose to play junior hockey with the Avs. I would like to thank my entire family for the endless support they have given me throughout the years in order to reach my goal of becoming a student-athlete. I am very excited about joining Framingham next season and can not wait for this new chapter of my life to get started, Go Rams!"
