February: McPherson -- Dahl -- Thelvén

BOSTON, MA -- Another month in the books, and it's time for the playoffs in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). The month of February was filled with tight races within each conference, and many key points were earned across the league. As is always the case, there were numerous candidates for the final set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Month.

The EHL is pleased to announce that Mike McPherson (Boston Jr. Rangers), Christian Dahl (Philadelphia Revolution), and Jeremy Thelvén (Connecticut RoughRiders) have been named the TSR Hockey Stars of the Month for February.

The Stars of the Month will all receive a $20 TSR Hockey gift certificate.

Scroll down to read about each player's February performances, and remember to catch the #Eshow action all year long on HockeyTV.

FORWARD - Mike McPherson (Boston Jr. Rangers)

McPherson and the Rangers went 8-0-1 in nine games in the month of February. The '97 forward rejoined the team at the beginning of the month, and was a major factor in the Rangers averaging 5.78 goals per game. The native of Somerville, MA had at least a point in all nine games, and finished with 14 goals and 11 assists to his name. The talented scorer was named the Forward of the Week once (TSR Hockey Stars of the Week #24), and made the pass for the game-winning goal on Wednesday that helped the Rangers clinch the Boston Division Regular Season Championship. McPherson will definitely be a player to watch, when the Rangers hit the ice in the Second Round of the EHL Playoffs, with their sights set on advancing to Providence and the EHL Frozen Finals.

DEFENSEMAN - Christian Dahl (Philadelphia Revolution)

Dahl and the Philadelphia Revolution were slightly above .500 in the month of February, but the big defenseman was phenomenal throughout. The 6'3 native of St. Peters, MO scored three goals and dished out nine assists, running his season totals up to 36 points in 47 total games to date. Philadelphia has three games left, starting with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights today at 4:00pm. Following today's Mid-Atlantic Division matchup, the Revolution will return home to host the New York Bobcats Royals for a pair of games, with their sights set on clinching the Division, Conference, and EHL Regular Season Championships. A lot is on the line for Dahl and Philadelphia in the final weekend of the regular season.

GOALTENDER - Jeremy Thelvén (Connecticut RoughRiders)

In net, a number of goalies shined brightly, but Thelvén stood the tallest while going 6-0-0 for the Connecticut RoughRiders. The perfect month of February also included Thelvén lowering his GAA to under 2.50. The RoughRiders were perfect in the month of February, in large part due to the play of their Swedish netminder. When it comes to hockey it's often discussed how critical it is to peak at the right time and with the Central Division Regular Season Championship now in their back pocket, the RoughRiders will be hitting their stride after they return from their First Round bye. Their opponent is still a long way from being determined, but it could be the Philadelphia Little Flyers, who they wrap-up the regular season against today at Noon.
