Jr. Flyers Alum Takes Home League Honors

BOSTON, MA -- Jon Ruiz, an alum of the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers, has been named the 2018 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Player of the Year. In his Junior season with UMass Dartmouth, the '94 from Williamstown, NJ scored 27 goals and dished out 17 assists in 44 total games. Ruiz was a major factor in the Corsairs' playoff run to the conference championship game. Unfortunately the game didn't fall in their favor, but it was a great season for the EHL alum. Looking back at Ruiz's time with the Jr. Flyers, the forward tallied 116 total points in 87 career games in the EHL. It's pretty clear that the scoring touch has carried over to college.
