Wizards All-Star Defenseman Set to Join Huskies this Fall

BEDFORD, MA -- Matt Fuller, a defenseman for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to the University of Southern Maine for the Fall of 2018. In two seasons in the EHL, the '98 from New Hampshire racked up 40 career points from the blue line.

"It's been great having Matt here for the past couple seasons," said Wizards head coach and general manager Freddy Meyer. "He works very hard both on and off the ice, and turned into one of our most reliable defensemen this season. I love the physical aspect that Matt brings to the table, and I'm confident he will be able to help the Huskies starting the very first day he steps on campus."

Fuller doubled his production this season, after tallying a goal and 12 assists in his first year in the EHL. This year those numbers increased up to three total goals to go along with 24 assists. The big defenseman also was the representative for the Wizards on the EHL All-Star Team that took on the UMass Boston Beacons back in October. Fuller took some time to reflect on his journey and give thanks.

"The East Coast Wizards have taught me a lot of important aspects both on and off the ice," said Fuller. "Things I will keep with me for a long time. I’d like to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for their support throughout the journey."
