Rangers Forward Set to Join Ravens this Fall

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Anthony Nikolopolous, a forward for the Boston Jr. Rangers, has committed to Franklin Pierce for the Fall of 2018. Nikolopolous is in his second season with the Rangers, and his first at the EHL level. After playing in the final nine games of the season last year with the Rangers' Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) team, the '98 forward has 17 points in 44 total games to date this year in the EHL.

"We are very happy for Niko," said Rangers head coach and general manager Rich DeCaprio. "He's worked very hard and has a great work ethic. His hockey IQ is really high and I think he's going to be a real nice college player. He's been a big asset for us this year!"

The native of Burlington, MA joined the Rangers' EHLP team late last season, and helped the squad make it all the way to the Finals. This year, Nikolopolous has made the jump up to the EHL, and has fit in well with the team's lineup. The future Franklin Pierce Raven took some time to reflect on his decision.

"I am very excited to be attending Franklin Pierce University in the Fall," said Nikolopolous. "I would like to thank Coach DeCaprio and Coach Blair for all they have done for me the last 2 years both on and off the ice. My time with the Jr. Rangers has been great and I am looking forward to being a Raven for the next 4 years."

Nikolopolous and the Rangers are heading to Providence this weekend for the EHL Frozen Finals. The Rangers will take on the Philadelphia Little Flyers on Thursday, the Philadelphia Revolution on Friday, and the New Hampshire Avalanche on Saturday. If the team plays well enough, then they will advance to the EHL Championship on Sunday at 1:00pm.
