Vermont Lumberjacks 7 – Philadelphia Little Flyers 3: Colden Lawrence powered the Lumberjacks’ offense with a hat trick plus an assist in a win over the Little Flyers. Lawrence opened the scoring just 12 seconds into the game, and while Cyrus Keeling responded with a goal to make it 1-1, Vermont took over with three unanswered goals in the first half. Jordan Blais had two goals plus an assist and Brayson Bennett had three assists for the Lumberjacks as they end their showcase on a high note.
Bridgewater Bandits 4 – New Jersey 87’s 1: Liam Fecteau scored a pair of goals in the Bandits’ win over the 87’s. The Massachusetts native opened the scoring by shoveling in a backhander at the net-front, then Brandon Borges doubled the lead on a breakaway. Tyler Branish put New Jersey on the board with his first goal of the season, but Christian Golic gave the Bandits their two-goal lead back a minute later. Lorenz Hofer was dialed in for Bridgewater, making 30 saves on 31 shots while Fecteau sealed the win with an empty-net goal.
HC Rhode Island 2 – Pennsylvania Huntsmen 0: Rhode Island scored twice in the second half as they shut out the Huntsmen 2-0. Austin Haldane fired a wrister from the top of the circle and netted his third goal of the season. Cooper Hall provided an insurance marker as he rang a shot off the post and in, and goaltender Ryan Rhodes made 21 saves to earn the shutout.
New Jersey Bears 4 – Valley Jr. Warriors 0: The Bears completed the showcase sweep and extended their winning streak to six games with a 4-0 victory over the Warriors. Ryan Hacker made 17 saves to record the shutout, and Owen House recorded a goal plus an assist, giving him 16 points (8g, 8a) through seven games. Preston Tauter, Christopher Benkovitz and Harveer Kamboj also found the back of the net while Phil Aube had a pair of assists. This is also the second straight year the Bears have won six out of seven games to start the season.
Providence Capitals 4 – East Coast Wizards 3 (F/OT): Deaglan Kelly scored an insane lacrosse goal for the overtime winner as Providence handed the Wizards its first loss of the season. Max Tong scored a first-half hat trick for the Wizards, but goals from Daniel Kroon and Kelly kept it a one-goal game at the half. Kroon picked up his second goal midway through the second stanza and forced the game to overtime. With just over a minute remaining, Kelly fired a shot over the net on a breakaway. As he went behind the net, he corralled a rolling puck onto his stick and stuffed the puck upstairs to give the Capitals the win.
Express Hockey Club 6 – Connecticut Nor’Easter 2: Myles Kidd had two goals and an assist in the Express’ win over the Nor’Easter. Ville Bodin, Hudson Perry, Erik Bjornson and Kidd combined for five goals in the first half, and Charles Dey tacked on one more in the second. Hunter Harkins and Ryan Sikorski found the back of the net for Connecticut, but it was not enough as the Express finished the weekend with a showcase sweep.
Vermont Lumberjacks 10 – Philadelphia Little Flyers 7: There’s a good chance the scoresheet for this game is longer than this article, but the Lumberjacks outlasted the Little Flyers in an offensive shootout. Both teams scored five goals in the first half and included multiple lead changes, but the Lumberjacks eventually pulled away in the second by scoring four unanswered goals. Thomas Hickey and Noah-Munn Jennings both recorded three goals and two assists for Vermont, while Andrew Hale and James Greene scored two goals each. Aiden Bourne had two goals for Philadelphia, and Nico Neve notched a goal plus two helpers.
Connecticut Nor’Easter AAA Academy 4 – New Jersey Renegades 1: Connecticut earned its first win of the season with a 4-1 victory over the Renegades. Ethan Muroski and Caleb McNulty each had a goal and an assist, Quinn Bereson and Camden Slater also scored for the Nor’Easter. Matt Tavares potted the lone goal for New Jersey late in the second half, but Connecticut cruised to the victory and ended their showcase on a high note.
Valley Jr. Warriors 3 – Union Jr. Thunder 1: The Warriors jumped to a three-goal lead in the first half, and it proved to be the difference in a win over the Thunder. Andrew Beausang, Paul Magalhaes and Michael Bevilacqua were the goal scorers for the Warriors; Shane Culley scored for Union in the second half. Aden Dube stopped 18 of 19 shots as the Warriors extended its winning streak to four games.
New Hampshire Avalanche 5 – Pennsylvania Huntsmen 3: The Avs completed a showcase sweep with a 5-3 win over the Huntsmen. Elliot Williamson and Grey Perham gave New Hampshire a 2-0 lead in the first, then Connor Carey took over in the second half with two goals. The Huntsmen put up three in the final half, but Evan Vasiljevs iced the game for the Avs with an empty-net goal.
New Jersey 87’s 3 – Bridgewater Bandits 0: The 87’s recorded its second shutout win of the showcase, knocking down the Bandits. Luke Glover, Aleksandr Kolesnikov and Michael Greene all scored in the second half, and goaltender Christian Amato pitched a 14-save shutout for New Jersey.
New Jersey Bears 5 – Express Hockey Club 1: Logan Camilleri had a goal and an assist in the Bears’ win over the Express. Winston Sweet, Carter Zimmer, Cian Murphy and Nathan Metclaf also found the back of the net, and Carson Edington was the lone goal scorer for the Express. Ethan Sadeghian made 15 saves on 16 shots as the Bears earned its second win of the season and closed out the October showcase.
