Seahawks Veteran Forward Set to Join Amcats this Fall

DENNIS, MA -- Mike Kelley, a forward for the Seahawks Hockey Club, has committed to to Anna Maria College for the fall of 2019.

The '98 native of Fort Wayne, IN spent a pair of seasons in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), playing one year each for the Seahawks and the Boston Jr. Rangers. Overall, Kelley tallied eight points in 52 games in the EHL.

"Mike settled in nice with the Seahawks starting on the very first day of the season, but an injury while blocking a shot had him miss a good chunk of the year," said Seahawks head coach and general manager Bill Zaniboni. "Mike was able to come back towards the end of the year, where he scored a big goal in the last game of the regular season to help give the Seahawks a second place finish. Mike was instrumental in this year's team chemistry and the success of the club. He's always a hard-working, positive, and a team first guy. Mike will fit into Anna Maria very well and what they are building there."

Kelley is the third EHL player to commit to join the Amcats this fall, adding his name to a list that includes Hunter Kirouac and Nathan Trull of the New England Wolves. Kelley can't wait for the season to get started, and is very grateful for his time in the EHL.

"I am excited to announce my commitment to Anna Maria College, where I will continue my academic and athletic careers," said Kelley. "I would like to thank my family, coaches, and teammates for supporting and pushing me over the years. Playing for the Seahawks organization helped me focus on my goal, both on and off the ice. The support and instrumental coaching I received from Coach Zaniboni will stay with me throughout my whole career. I want to thank coach for helping me prepare for these next four years, and providing me the opportunity to play NCAA hockey, which is something I have always wanted. I cannot thank my family enough for the support I've received throughout my hockey career".
