Cerrella Set to Lead Team EHL in October

BOSTON, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) is pleased to announce the coaching staff for the 2019 All-Star Weekend. For the 2nd consecutive season, Chris Cerrella of the New Hampshire Avalanche will serve as the Head Coach for Team EHL. Alongside the two-time defending EHL champion will be three fellow coaches in Freddy Meyer (East Coast Wizards), Josh Fusco (Team Maryland), and Bill Zaniboni (Seahawks Hockey Club).

GELSTX is the new brand name behind Team EHL, as for the 3rd consecutive season, the league will select a group of All-Stars to take on a set of NCAA programs.

"I am very excited about this year's coaching staff for Team EHL,” said Neil Ravin, the league’s Director of the Communications. “It's a good combination that includes a pair of coaches that were involved last year, and pair of coaches that will get to experience the event for the first time. Overall, our All-Star Weekend has received a tremendous amount of attention from college coaches and scouts, and I am confident that this year's staff will help raise the bar once again for our league."

Two seasons ago, Team EHL took on Umass Boston in the first-ever meeting between the league and an NCAA program. Fast-forward to this past season, and Team EHL made it a weekend to remember, following another impressive showing against the Beacons to go along with a matchup against Plymouth State University.

This upcoming season will feature the third year of the event, and a trio of opponents.

"I am very honored to be selected as the Head Coach of Team EHL once again this season," said Cerrella. "However, I owe it all to the players we've had in New Hampshire over the past two years. They've truly bought into our mission, and we've been very fortunate to see it turn into a pair of championships and 35 NCAA Commitments. As for the annual All-Star Weekend, it's an event that is absolutely huge for our league. The feedback that I hear from the college coaches tells it all, as they get the chance to see that our players truly are ready for the next level."
