4 More Players Receive Weekly Honors

BOSTON, MA -- With every passing week of the hockey season, the number of alumni winning awards continues to increase. Looking back on this past week in particular, and another four alumni with ties to the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) claimed honors in their respective conferences.

NEHC

This past week in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC), the #Eshow saw its alumni combine to take home two of the three league awards.

First up was Matthew Muzyka, an alumni of the Connecticut RoughRiders, and the NEHC Player of the Week. The '96 native of Chesire, CT is now a senior at Skidmore College, and the Thoroughbreds just wrapped up their four-team invitational that they hosted and won this past weekend.

Muzyka earned a spot on the Skidmore Invitational All-Tournament team after tallying four points (two goals, two assists), in the two games. The veteran forward had a goal and two assists in a 5-2 win over SUNY Brockport, and then followed things up with a goal in the 4-2 championship game victory over Tufts University.

Looking back on Muzyka's single season in the EHL, and the talented playmaker notched an even 37 points in 37 total games during the 2016-17 campaign.

Moving back between the pipes, and Bradley Arvanitis was named the NEHC Goaltender of the Week. Similar to Muzyka, Arvanitis spent just a single season in the league, but it was at the EHLP level back in 2015-16. After a solid campaign with the Walpole Express, the '97 native of Holliston, MA spent a year in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) and then his freshmen and sophomore collegiate seasons at the University of Massachusetts (Division I -- Hockey East).

Now, in his junior year, Arvanitis is playing a key role on his new team at Babson College. Arvanitis made a career-high 41 saves to record his first collegiate victory and shutout this past Saturday against Williams College. Just about half of his saves (20), came in the 3rd period alone.

Looking back on his 2015-16 numbers from the EHLP, and Arvanitis racked up 16 wins in just his first season of junior hockey.

NE-10

The streak continues, as for the 5th consecutive week, an EHL alumni has won Northeast-10 (NE10) Rookie of the Year honors. After Matt Schreiner, an alumnus of the Walpole Express and a freshman at Saint Michael's College, claimed the award in week #1, George Thurston took home the honor in each of the previous three weeks. Thurston is an alumnus of the the Valley Jr. Warriors and a freshman at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU).

This past week, a new EHL team and collegiate program was represented as Conor Foley took home the honor. The '98 native of Nahant, MA joined the Vermont Lumberjacks in November of this past season, and notched over a point per game, with 37 total points in 34 total contests.

Now as a freshman at Franklin Pierce University, Foley notched five points on three goals and two assists in a 3-0-0 stretch this past week for the Ravens.

UCHC

Speaking of streaks, we've also now gone two weeks in a row for EHL alums taking home Rookie of the Week honors in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC).

Following suit of Austin Master, an alumnus of the Philadelphia Little Flyers and a freshmen at Stevenson UniversityNoah Bradley just took home the same award.

The alumnus of the Philadelphia Revolution played a huge role in a 3-2 come-from-behind victory for Manhattanville College over Connecticut College. The freshman picked up the primary assist on Manhattanville's first goal of the contest, and then found the back of the net to tie the game a few minutes later. Each goal came in the final frame, and helped set the Valiants up to win the game late in the 3rd period.

Looking back on Bradley's time in the EHL, and he definitely had the scorer's touch while playing in the league. In 113 career games, Bradley tallied 87 total points to his name.
