RoughRiders Captain Set to Joins Colonels Next Fall

NORWALK, CT -- Tao Ishizuka, a forward for the Connecticut RoughRiders, has committed to Curry College for the fall of 2020.

The '99 native of Providence, RI is in his second season in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), and his first full year with the RoughRiders. To date, Ishizuka has played in 67 career games in the EHL and has tallied 66 total points to his name. This year alone, the RoughRiders' captain has already scored 17 goals and dished out 14 assists.

"Tao is an extremely versatile forward with great hands and puck handling skills," said RoughRiders head coach and general manager Eric Lind. "He is a playmaking winger with an excellent scoring touch. He is a solid passer and super speedy technical skater – one of the fastest in the EHL.”

Ishizuka and the RoughRiders are right in the thick of things in the Mid-Atlantic Conference, as they currently sit in sole possession of 3rd place with 32 points in their first 27 games (15-10-2).

Looking ahead, the RoughRiders host the North Carolina Golden Bears tonight before finishing off the month of December with three games next week. Connecticut will look to hit the break with a little momentum to carry over to 2020.
