Revolution Forward Set to Join Mustangs Next Fall

WARMINSTER, PA -- Mark Tosti, a forward for the Philadelphia Revolution, has committed to Stevenson University for the fall of 2020.

The '99 native of Newtown, PA is in his third season with the Revolution, and to date, he's tallied 50 total points in 68 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL).

"Any time you spend a couple of years with a player it's always amazing to watch kids grow as both a player and a person,” said Revolution head coach Jon Rogger. "Mark has become a top-six forward for us this season and has done a great job both on and off the ice. I think he will do extremely well at the next level because he knows what it takes to stay in the lineup and how to compete for 60 minutes every night. He can be used on the penalty-kill because of his speed and knows how to get pucks out; as well as being a power-play guy because of his shot and quick release.”

Tosti is the first commitment of the season for the Revolution, and the 4th EHL player to choose the Mustangs hockey program. Stevenson has been a heavy recruiter since they became a NCAA Division III program, as Tosti is the 19th player in league history to decide on the school in Maryland. Overall, Tosti is very grateful to have made this decision, and he took some time to show some appreciation to the staff that helped him along the way.

"Ever since I went down to visit, it was awesome and it was just a no-brainer,” said Tosti. “[Chris] Kanaly, [Jon] Rogger and Joe [Matiskiel] have been a huge part of my development. Having a staff such as the Revolution, is a huge part of a player’s development and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. Battling through a shoulder surgery last year was extremely tough, however, once I was able to skate, the coaching staff made sure I had the necessary ice (time) I needed to get back in the swing of things.”

Tosti and the Revolution are currently in 2nd place of the Mid-Atlantic Conference, with 16 regular season games left on the schedule. Philadelphia will return to action on January 5th and 6th, for a two-game set at home against the North Carolina Golden Bears.
