Revolution Forward Joins List of Future Falcons

WARMINSTER, PA -- Jordan Sgro, a forward for the Philadelphia Revolution, has committed to Albertus Magnus College for the fall of 2020.

The '99 native of Derry, PA is in his first season with the Revolution, and to date, he's averaged just over a point per game with 10 goals and 26 assists in his first 35 games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL).

"He is a player that enjoys being at the rink and is always looking to improve his game,” said Revolution head coach Jon Rogger. "Sgro is the player who shows up early and stays late for practice. Jordan has been a top-six guy for us all season and has been excellent over the past few weeks. His energy and compete level each and every shift is fun to watch and is the big reason he has turned a lot of college coaches' heads. He is a player that wants to see his teammates do well and will help any way that he can. Jordan is definitely the fun type of guy on this team who brings a breath of fresh air to the locker room each day.”

Sgro is the 2nd commit of the season for the Revolution, as well as the 3rd EHL player to choose the Falcons' hockey program. Albertus Magnus is currently in their inaugural season at the NCAA Division III level, but the future is bright for the program, with the addition of Sgro this fall, along with Jake Pasquini and Brendan Sjostedt from the New Hampshire Avalanche.

"I am looking forward to helping build a new program, as well as playing at the NCAA level and developing skills under the coaching staff at Albertus Magnus,” said Sgro. “The Revolution staff was a huge help in this process. They contacted the school for me as well as talked to them at showcases and over the phone. They also helped me develop as a player, so I could showcase my talents to the best of my ability and help the team win.”

Sgro and the Revolution are in a tight battle at the top of the Mid-Atlantic Conference standings, as the team pushes for a First Round bye in the upcoming EHL Playoffs.
