Maryland All-Star Set to Join Teammate this Fall

ODENTON, MD -- Tristan Mock, a forward for Team Maryland, has committed to Becker College for fall of 2020.

The '99 native of Johnstown, PA is in his first season with Maryland, and to date, he's tallied 48 points in 34 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL).

"Tristan came here on a mission to grow with the game and elevate himself to have maximum exposure to schools," said Team Maryland head coach and general manager Josh Fusco. "Him and I built a relationship a few years ago and it came full circle when he made the decision to come here and trust me. He has done a tremendous job for us and is a huge key part of our lineup. We are extremely happy for him on his decision."

Mock is the leading scorer for Team Maryland this season, and is tied for 9th in total points amongst all skaters in the EHL. The veteran forward was also a member of the 2019 EHL All-Star Team that posted a 1-1-1 record against a trio of NCAA Division III opponents. Overall, Mock is very happy with the decision he made to come to the EHL for his final year of junior hockey, and he's looking forward to joining the Hawks with Evan Green this fall.

"I fell in love with the campus right when I stepped on it, and Coach Young is a great guy and put a lot of effort in to me and made me feel comfortable," said Mock. "I like where the program is heading and what Coach Young is doing there. I couldn't be any happier with the choice and appreciate all the support from TM and Coach Fusco’s guidance as well."

Mock and Team Maryland currently sit in 5th place in the Mid-Atlantic Conference standings, with seven games remaining in the regular season. The team hits the ice next on Friday, when they host the New Jersey 87s at 12:15pm.
