Rangers All-Star Forward Set to Join Falcons this Fall

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Connor Doherty, a forward for the Boston Jr. Rangers, has committed to Albertus Magnus College for the fall of 2020.

The '99 native of Lowell, MA is in his first and only season with the Rangers, and to date, he's tallied 13 goals and 35 assists in his first 37 games.

"We are so happy for Connor on his commitment to Albertus," said Rangers head coach and general manager Rich DeCaprio. "That program is going to be one of the best at the Division III level pretty soon. His speed and shot are undeniable, and we look forward to watching him excel at the next level!”

The Falcons are brand new at the NCAA Division III level this season, but have already turned heads across college hockey. With the addition of Doherty and the rest of the EHL commits, Albertus Magnus will surely continue to improve in the years to come. Doherty is beyond grateful to have this weight off of his shoulders, and also very thankful of what the Rangers and the EHL did for him.

"The EHL and Boston Jr. Rangers coaches gave me an unbelievable opportunity to grow my game and give me exposure to get to the next level in my career," said Doherty. "This league is second to none when it comes to recruiting for the Division III level, and it was a very easy choice to take my talent to the EHL."

Doherty and the Rangers have their sights set on Providence, RI, and the 2020 EHL Frozen Finals. With the best record in the league at 32-5-1, the first step will be to stay focused down the stretch and secure a First Round bye.
