Chiefs Captain Set to Join Eagles this Fall

NEWINGTON, CT -- Jesse Belley, a forward for the Connecticut Chiefs, has committed to Post University for the fall of 2020.

The '99 native of Canada is in his first season with the Chiefs, and to date, he's tallied 14 points in 37 total games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL).

"We couldn’t be happier for Jesse," said Chiefs head coach and general manager Neil Breen. "He’s worked very hard for this and is excited to take the next step. His goal in coming to the Eastern Hockey League was to reach the NCAA ranks in his sport. Jesse has been an excellent leader and player for the Chiefs, so this commitment is a well-deserved reward."

Belley is the first commit of the season for the Chiefs, and 12th player in league history to choose the Post hockey program. This year marks the 6th season in a row where the Eagles have brought in at least one player from the EHL. Belley is very happy with his decision, and can't wait to begin his collegiate hockey career this fall.

"I want to thank my family, friends and teammates for supporting me on this journey, and a big shout out to the Connecticut Chiefs and Coach Breen for this amazing opportunity," said Belley. "Without all of you, this dream of mine wouldn’t have come true. I am extremely proud to be a Chief and will always cherish the time I spent here with the Tribe.”

The Chiefs have just seven games remaining in the regular season, six of which will take place in the friendly home confines of the Newington Arena.
