Rangers Forward Set to Join Cadets this Fall

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Brent Rickett, a forward for the Boston Jr. Rangers, has committed to Norwich University for the fall of 2020.

The '99 native of Portland, ME chose to come to the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) for his final year of junior hockey, and to date, he's tallied 66 points in 43 total games.

"We are very happy for Brent and his commitment to Norwich," said Rangers head coach and general manager Rich DeCaprio. "He has worked so hard off and on the ice to reach his goals. Norwich is not only getting a high quality hockey player, but a top-notch kid."

Rickett is the 2nd EHL player to commit to Norwich this season, and the Cadets are currently the top-ranked team in all of NCAA Division III hockey. Rickett is beyond excited to have this decision made, and can't wait to join one of the top programs in college hockey.

“Playing in the EHL for the Boston Jr. Rangers has been a great experience from the coaching staff and level of play, to the professionalism of the league as a whole," said Rickett. "The Rangers organization is extremely professional from top to bottom and has helped me prepare for my college hockey career better than anywhere before. From the facilities and resources available, to its players, playing for the Jr. Rangers for my age-out year was an easy decision."

Rickett and the Rangers recently clinched their first-ever EHL Regular Season Championship, and the top overall seed in the New England Conference Playoffs.
