Little Flyers Defenseman Set to Join Mustangs this Fall

ASTON, PA -- Soren Bredeson, a defenseman for the Philadelphia Little Flyers, has committed to Morrisville State for the fall of 2020.

The '99 native of Eagle, CO is in his second season with the Little Flyers, and to date, he's tallied 47 points in 93 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL).

"Soren really stepped up for us this season and took on a larger role both on and off the ice," said Little Flyers head coach and general manager Mark Catron. "We lost five really good defensemen who all made their NCAA commitments last season, so there were some big shoes to fill with Soren being the only returning player on the backend. He really stepped into a leadership role, being named Assistant Captain early in the season, and played through a few nagging injuries throughout the year, while never missing a game. Our entire organization is really proud of Soren and happy for him making his college commitment to Morrisville; he really worked hard and earned every opportunity he’s been given here."

Bredeson is part of a growing incoming freshmen class at Morrisville, that includes three other players from the EHL. The trio of players joining Bredeson are Rob Haak from the New England Wolves, and Jensen Dodge and Jordan Michaud from the Vermont Lumberjacks. Bredeson can't wait to get started this fall, and is very thankful to everyone that helped him reach this goal.

"I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to SUNY Morrisville to continue my academic and athletic careers in the fall of 2020," said Bredeson. "I would like to start by thanking my family for the endless support throughout my hockey career. I would like to thank Coach Catron for giving me a home for the last two seasons with the Little Flyers organization. Thank you to Coach Krogol and Coach Azzano for giving me the opportunity to pursue my athletic and academic careers at SUNY Morrisville. Thank you to C20 hockey group for the support. Finally, I would like to send a special thanks to Kim and the Norris family, my amazing billet family for the last two seasons. I am excited to be a part of the Herd."

Bredeson and the Little Flyers are in a tight battle for playoff positioning in the Mid-Atlantic Conference. Philadelphia is essentially locked into the #4 vs. #5 First Round matchup with Team Maryland, but has some work to do in order to secure the home ice advantage. With a pair of games remaining this weekend against the Philadelphia Revolution, the Little Flyers will have to pick up at least two out of the four possible points, in order to guarantee home ice in the opening round.
