RoughRiders Veteran Forward Set to Join Hawks this Fall

NORWALK, CT -- Will Christensen, a forward for the Connecticut RoughRiders, has committed to Saint Anselm College for the fall of 2020.

The '99 native of Ridgefield, CT spent a pair of seasons with the RoughRiders, tallying 109 total points in 89 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL).

"Will is a solid two-way forward with an excellent understanding of the game," said RoughRiders head coach and general manager Eric Lind. "He is a very good skater with superb play-making abilities."

Christensen is one of eight commits so far this year for the RoughRiders, including a trio that are heading to St. A's together. The veteran forward will be joined by his teammates Tommy Schwartz and Connor Snowdy with the Hawks this fall.

Through two years with the RoughRiders, Christensen's improvement was very apparent, especially with the 19-point increase in his production this past year. However, the RoughRiders coaching staff saw his game develop in more ways than just the scoring totals.

"Will was an excellent face-off man in the center position for us over the years," said RoughRiders associate head coach Steven Brown. "His 59.1 win-percentage led the team this past season.”

Christensen will now begin his collegiate hockey career this fall, as he hopes to carry over his scoring and play-making talents to the next level.
