4-Year Assistant Takes on Lead Role

BEDFORD, MA -- The East Coast Wizards are pleased to announce that Kory Falite has been named the new Head Coach and General Manager for the junior team that plays in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL).

After serving as the Assistant Coach for the past 4 seasons, Falite will step into the top role with the Wizards' program.

For the past four seasons Falite has served as the assistant underneath Freddy Meyer, who recently accepted the Head Coach and Assistant Athletic Director job at the Rivers School in Weston, MA.

"I’m thrilled the Wizards have given me this opportunity," said Falite. "Freddy has built this program from scratch and for the past 6 seasons he has done an unbelievable job. He has been such a great mentor for me personally the past 4 years, and I can’t thank him enough. He’s developed the Wizards into a top program in the EHL, and I look forward at the opportunity to continue on what he’s started."

Falite is a 2010 graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. During his time at Lowell (2006-2010), Kory was a member of the Men’s Division 1 NCAA hockey program. He complied 60 goals and 46 assists in his 4-year tenure with the River Hawks.

After graduating, Falite signed with the St.Louis Blues and was assigned to Alaska Aces of the ECHL. He played 69 games during the regular season compiling 45 points in his rookie year. He also played in nine playoff games helping the Aces win both the ECHL regular season and the Kelly Cup playoffs.

Falite played part of the 2011–12 season with Norway's Manglerud Star, but returned to North America to pursue his professional career after signing a contract on December 11, 2011 with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

He was then sent to the Utah Grizzles to finish the remainder of the 2012 season. Falite played over 90 games with Utah until he was traded at the deadline the following season in a 7-player deal. He was sent to the San Francisco Bulls to finish the 2013 season.

In the fall of 2013, Falite joined "World Select" and was assigned to coach in Hong Kong for the Hong Kong Selects. While in Hong Kong, Kory was the Director of Hockey Operations, coached several U8-U17 teams, and organized/ran weekly skill sessions.

Since returning to the United States in 2016, Falite has been with the Wizards, and has served as Meyer's right-hand man. Now, it's Falite's turn to steer the ship.
