Railers Forward Set to Join Rams this Fall

WORCESTER, MA -- Andrew Miller, a forward for the Railers Jr Hockey Club, has committed to Framingham State University (FSU) for the fall of 2020.

The '99 native of Waltham, MA recently finished his first and only season with the Railers. Combined between his time spent in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP), Miller scored 17 goals and dished out 14 assists in 46 total games this past season.

"Andrew Miller is a special individual who has only scratched the surface on his hockey potential," said Railers head coach James Mello. "Miller is a very good skater, possesses very good hand skills and he has very good on ice instincts, that are all driven by his great sense of determination. He showed tremendous development over the course of the season and is committed to doing the things that are required of players who want to excel at the college level. In order to have success at any level, you need a group of guys who are more focused on serving their teammates than they are themselves. Andrew embodies the team-first mentality and is well-respected by his teammates.”

With Miller's commitment, the streak extends to five years running that the Rams have committed at least one player from the EHL. Overall, Miller is the 22nd player in league history to choose Framingham State.

"Playing for the Worcester Railers this year was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life," said Miller. "Although our record wasn’t the greatest, I learned so many things on and off the ice that will live on with me throughout my collegiate experience, as well as throughout life. I honestly wouldn’t be anything close to the player I am today without the advice of our General Manager Mike Addesa, coach James Mello, coach Brian Addesa, and the rest of the Railers staff. I really want to thank our General Manager Mike Addesa on the extra effort he put in to find the right match for me, both as a student and as a hockey player at Framingham State. I am really looking forward to the next four years of my life."
