Express All-Star Forward Set to Join Cadets this Fall

WALPOLE, MA -- Brayden Patricia, a forward for the Walpole Express, has committed to Norwich University for the fall of 2021.

The 2000-born native of Stewartsville, NJ is in his 2nd season in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), and to date, he's tallied 120 total points in 74 career games. After spending the 2019-20 season with the Philadelphia Revolution, Patricia began this season with the Protec Jr Ducks, and then recently made the move to the Central Division and the Express.

"Brayden was a gigantic addition for us over the holiday break," said Express head coach and general manager Cody Campbell. "He is a gifted offensive player and is a threat to score every time he’s on the ice. He has also bought into our culture and has been committed from his very first day here to help us continue building on that culture. I am extremely happy for Brayden and his family that he is going to have the opportunity to play at the #1 ranked NCAA Division III program in the nation, and pursue a career in the Air Force while doing that."

The EHL All-Star currently ranks just outside the top-10 on the all-time scoring charts, but has a chance to to etch his name in the record books with a strong finish to the regular season and upcoming postseason. Points and production aside, Patricia is beyond proud to have landed a spot with such a great university both academically and athletically.

"Norwich is the right fit for me personally based off what I want as a career and what I would like to do with it," said Patricia. "I am going to pursue the Air Force while at Norwich and playing hockey for one of, if not the best, Division III programs in the country. I felt that it would best set me up for my hockey career and professional career after school as well."

Patricia went on to talk about the move to Walpole and his feelings towards the first five weeks with his new team.

"Even though I just got to Walpole a few weeks ago, the culture and the way this organization is run is top notch. I feel like this is one of the best programs in all of Junior hockey," added Patricia. "I am very happy I made the decision to come to the Express and I can’t thank Coach Campbell, Coach Holmstrom, and all my teammates enough for bringing me in and welcoming me with open arms."
