Seahawks Forward Set to Join Skyhawks this Fall

DENNIS, MA -- Ryan King, a forward for the Seahawks Hockey Club, has committed to Stonehill College for the fall of 2020.

The '99 native of East Greenwich, RI recently finished his first and only season the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), splitting time between the Seahawks and the East Coast Wizards. Overall, King tallied 19 points in 38 total games this past year.

"I am proud of Ryan for his commitment to Stonehill," said Seahawks head coach and general manager Bill Zaniboni. "Ryan fit right into the Seahawks family when he joined in February, and his play showed he was willing to do anything possible to help the team win, and be a good teammate."

King went through a little bit of a slow start after joining the Seahawks, but got much more comfortable as time progressed, tallying five points in his team's final six games of the season (including playoffs). King is glad he finished the year on the cape, and can't wait to get started this fall.

"I am proud to announce my commitment to continue my academic and hockey careers at Stonehill College," said King. "My time with the Seahawks was short but extremely beneficial both on and off the ice. Coach Zaniboni, Coach Fellows, and the entire Seahawks Organization have created a winning culture that promotes development, family, and community, and prioritizes college placement for every player. The Seahawks organization has been a huge stepping stone in my development as an athlete and a teammate, and I cant thank my family, Coach Zaniboni, and the rest of the Seahawks organization enough for all the help and support throughout this process. That all being said, I look forward to getting things started in the fall!"

King is one of three EHL players that has committed to Stonehill for this upcoming season, as he'll be joined by Matthew Talarico of the Walpole Express, and Luke Richards of the Valley Jr Warriors.
