Wizards All-Star Forward Set to Join Teammate this Fall

BEDFORD, MA -- Andrew Stefura, a defenseman for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to Castleton University for the fall of 2021.

The 2000-born native of Boston, MA is in his second season with the Wizards, and in 77 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), he's tallied 21 goals and 39 assists to his name.

"Stefura has developed into a talented playmaker during his time here with the Wizards," said Wizards head coach and general manager Kory Falite. "We knew prior to last season we were getting a player that could the puck in the net, but sometimes it takes a month or so to truly make the jump from prep hockey to junior hockey. I am really looking forward to watching Stefura continue to develop at the next level."

As Falite mentioned, Stefura joined the Wizards following four years at the Saint Joseph Preparatory High School. Over the course of his prep school career, Stefura tallied over 130 points, notching 72 goals and 59 assists to his name. All those years of development combined with a pair of solid junior seasons led Stefura to be named an EHL All-Star back in November, and now his truly earned this great achievement.

"After two seasons with the Wizards, I am excited to announce that I will begin my collegiate hockey career with Castleton University," said Stefura. "I would like to thank my coaches, Kory Falite, Freddy Meyer, and Chris Santello for helping me to develop as a player and supporting me throughout the last two years. I also would like to thank Adrien Peacock for pushing me during off ice training and helping me become a better athlete. The Wizards coaching staff is the best I have ever worked with, thank you all for everything. I would also like to thank my Mom, Dad, and older sister for always being my biggest fans. Lastly, thank you to my teammates for the best two years of my life and in my hockey career so far. I look forward to my next chapter in my career at Castelton. Go Spartans!"

Stefura and the Wizards are riding a season high four-game winning streak into next week's home-and-home series with the Western Mass Chiefs. The Assistant Captain will look to continue leading his team down the stretch, as they prepare for the upcoming EHL Playoffs.
