Rangers Veteran Forward Set to Join Polar Bears this Fall

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Jack Moore, a forward for the Boston Jr. Rangers, has committed to Bowdoin College for the fall of 2021.

This is Moore's 2nd season with the Rangers, and first full year in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). Since joining the Rangers in February of 2020, Moore has played in 42 career games in the EHL. Throughout that time he's averaged just under a point per game, tallying 14 goals and 26 assists to his credit.

"We are very proud of Jack and the opportunity he has earned to attend such a prestigious institution in Bowdoin, and also to continue his hockey career there as well," said Rangers head coach and general manager Rich DeCaprio. "He’s a tremendous competitor and I look forward to watching him play the next 4 years at Bowdoin!"

While Moore goes down as the first player in Rangers history to choose Bowdoin, he's also the 8th player in league history to make this decision. This fall, he will be join up with George McMichael from the New Hampshire Avalanche, as part of the Polar Bears' incoming freshmen class in the highly-competitive and well-respected New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).

“When Coach DeCaprio reached out for me to finish the year with the Jr. Rangers last season, it was a great opportunity for me," said Moore. "In the time I was here last year, and throughout this year, I have not only grown as a player, but as a person. For the next year, I have committed to Bowdoin College and I am extremely appreciative of everything Coach DeCaprio and the Rangers organization has done for me to allow me to continue my athletic career at such a prestigious school!"

Looking forward, Moore can now turn his full attention towards the upcoming EHL Playoffs, in which the Rangers will be looking to finish off what the pandemic didn't allow them to this past March.
