Seahawks All-Star Defenseman Set to Join Trio of Teammates this Fall

SOUTH DENNIS, MA -- Tyler Duderstadt, a defenseman for the Seahawks Hockey Club, has committed to Rivier University for the fall of 2021.

The 2000-born native of Sewickley, PA came to the Seahawks for his final season of junior hockey, and in 32 total Eastern Hockey League (EHL) games to date, he's tallied 15 points to his name.

"Tyler has been a great addition to our program this season," said Seahawks head coach and general manager Bill Zaniboni. "He battled through an injury during the first half, and has proven to be one of our most reliable guys on the back end. Tyler is a hard working, humbled player and he deserves this opportunity."

Duderstadt is one of 10 EHL players that has chosen Rivier University for this upcoming fall, and included in that group, are three of his teammates from the Seahawks. When the 6'1" defenseman arrives on campus this fall, he will be joined by Austin Finch, Shane Murphy, and Anthony Purdue.

"I am very proud and excited to announce my commitment to further my athletic and academic careers at Rivier University," said Duderstadt. "I would like to thank my family and friends for supporting me throughout the years. I am also very thankful to Coach Zaniboni and the Seahawks for their support and continued commitment to allow players to further their careers. I am excited to be a Raider and can't wait for the next four years."

The EHL All-Star and the Seahawks are busy preparing for their First Round series against the Western Mass Chiefs, which will begin on Wednesday in Springfield, MA.
