Seahawks Forward Set to Join Pilgrims this Fall

SOUTH DENNIS, MA -- David Novotny, a forward for the Seahawks Hockey Club, has committed to New England College (NEC) for the fall of 2021.

The '01 native of Boca Raton, FL joined the Seahawks for the 2nd half of the 2020-21 season, and in 15 total games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), Novotny tallied 8 total points to his name. Despite being eligible to return for one more season next year, Novotny is ready to take his game to the collegiate level right now.

"David is a crafty forward who competes like a dog on the ice," said Seahawks head coach and general manager Bill Zaniboni. "His speed and grit to compete and win will fit in well with Coach Carroll and the Pilgrims. I'm looking forward to following him at NEC."

With Novotny's commitment the Seahawks have officially hit the 40-mark in just four seasons in the EHL. While the talented forward is the first Seahawk in program history to choose NEC, he's also the 10th player to do so in league history.

"I am super excited to join such a great program that competes at the highest level of Division III hockey," said Novotny. "Since I started my hockey career, I have always strived to play at the highest level possible and NEC fulfills that goal. Playing prep school hockey at Williston Northampton, and most recently the Seahawks Hockey Club, has shaped me into the player I am today. The Seahawks gave me an opportunity to be an impact player right away which helped me ultimately find a great program like NEC. I would like to thank my coaches, friends, and most of all my parents, that have sacrificed everything to allow me to purse my passion."
