Wolves Defenseman Set to Join Hawks this Fall

LACONIA, NH -- Richard Colarusso, a defenseman for the New England Wolves, has committed to Saint Anselm College for the fall of 2021.

The 2000-born native of Tewksbury, MA joined the Wolves in late November, and in 27 total games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), he tallied 13 points with a pair goals and 11 assists.

"We're very happy for Richie for getting his commitment to play college hockey next year," said Wolves head coach Tim Kunes. "He was a great player for us all season. Coach Rocha is getting a great individual who brings energy and enthusiasm every day to the rink."

Colarusso joins an incoming class at Saint A's that includes three other players from around the EHL. When he arrives on campus this fall, he will be joined by Mark Blaney of the New Hampshire AvalancheHunter Brackett of the Seahawks Hockey Club, and Max Burum of the Walpole Express.

The Wolves are excited for Colarusso to be a part of this group, and grateful for what he gave to their program in a trying season.

"Richie came to us around Thanksgiving and made an immediate impact," added Wolves general manager Andrew Trimble. "He plays fast and has a shoot-first mentality. In the locker room, he immediately became an integral part of the group."
