EHL Veteran Forward Set to Join Purple Knights this Fall

BOSTON, MA -- Gabriel Jodoin, a forward that spent time this season with the New England Wolves and the New Hampshire Avalanche, has committed to Saint Michael's College for the fall of 2021.

Over the course of his career in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), Jodoin played in 58 total games, tallying 13 goals and 41 assists along the way.

"Jodoin was a good addition to our team down the stretch," said Avalanche head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "He suffered an injury so his game time here was less than we were hoping, but he fit right into our room from the 1st day. Saint Michael’s is getting a player with a good hockey IQ and skill set.  I think he is a good addition to the Saint Michael's academic and athletic communities. We are happy for Gabriel and his family."

After spending the majority of his time with the Wolves, Jodoin moved a little under an hour south for the final two months of his junior career. While you can label them as rivals on the ice, the Avalanche and Wolves have done well working together for players just like Jodoin, as they continue to climb the ladder.

"We are happy for Gabe as he embarks on this next step in his career," said Wolves general manager Andrew Trimble. "We enjoyed having Gabe with us for parts of 2 seasons and connecting him with St Michael’s, who fit his academic, athletic, and geographic goals. The Wolves wish him well."

Despite seeing his 2020-21 campaign cut short due to injury, Jodoin is very appreciative of both North Division organizations for helping him reach the next step in his career.

"I want to thank the Wolves for the 2 years in Laconia," said Jodoin. "I have always appreciated his [Tim Kunes] style of coaching, as it was a great fit for my game. I am thankful for my time with the Wolves. I also want to thank the Avalanche. This wouldn’t have been possible without Coach Cerralla, Coach Mario, and Coach Vinny. I would also like to thank my family, friends, and teammates for the support throughout my career. I’m very excited for what’s coming up!"
