Rangers Forward Set to Join Thoroughbreds this Fall

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Ethan Heidepriem, a forward for the Boston Jr. Rangers, has committed to Skidmore College for the fall of 2021.

The 2000-born native of Findlay, OH joined the Rangers for the stretch run in early February, and he scored a pair of big playoff goals helping Boston claim their first-ever EHL Championship.

"I am very excited for Ethan on receiving his commitment to Skidmore," said Rangers head coach and general manager Rich DeCaprio. "I had no hesitations when we had the chance to add him for the stretch run, and he truly helped round out our top-12 forward unit. I'm looking forward to watching him continue to develop at the next level."

While Heidepriem goes in the books as the first player in Rangers' history to choose Skidmore, he's part of a four-player class that the EHL is sending the Thoroughbreds way this fall. When he arrives on campus he will be joined by Joe Biddle of the Valley Jr WarriorsZach Lindenwirth of the New Jersey 87s, and Blaine Moore of the Seahawks Hockey Club.

"I am beyond pleased to announce my commitment to Skidmore College where I will be able to continue on with my athletic career all while attending an institution that has built a strong academic reputation," said Heidepriem. "I really want to thank Coach DeCaprio and the Rangers organization for welcoming me in with such open arms late in the year. While the experience in Boston was short and sweet, I will always remember the memories we made together as a team."

Those memories that Heidepriem is referring to came of course at the end of March, when the Rangers came from behind en route to a 3-2 overtime victory in the 2021 EHL Championship Game against the New Hampshire Avalanche.
