Seahawks Goaltender Set to Join Thoroughbreds this Fall

SOUTH DENNIS, MA -- Blaine Moore, a goaltender for the Seahawks Hockey Club, has committed to Skidmore College for the fall of 2021.

The 2000-born native of Glenmont, NY came to the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) for his final season of junior hockey, and formed a solid goaltending duo alongside a fellow 2000-born netminder in Peyton Durand.

"Blaine is a great kid and came into our program and fit in right away with our group, both on and off the ice," said Seahawks head coach and general manager Bill Zaniboni. "We are excited for Blaine and his family, as Skidmore is a great academic and athletic fit for him and his future."

Moore is part of an incoming freshmen class that includes four total EHL players from four different EHL teams. When the 6'4" goalie arrives on campus this fall, he will be joined by Joe Biddle of the Valley Jr WarriorsEthan Heidepriem of the Boston Jr. Rangers, and Zach Lindenwirth of the New Jersey 87s.

Moore took a chance to look back on his final season of junior hockey, and express his gratitude towards everyone that helped him reach this moment.

"This year was a crazy and eye-opening year without a doubt," said Moore. "Between crazy schedules and quarantines, it was definitely been the most turbulent year of my junior career. Which is why I am so incredibly thankful that Coach Hutchinson reached out to me at the beginning of this season. Skidmore is a mere forty-five minutes from my parents house in the beautiful town of Saratoga. I have played and trained with several goaltenders and players alike from their program. I've heard nothing but great things about the coaching staff and players. I cant wait for what lies ahead and I am excited to see my Seahawk teammates grow and excel at their respective programs."
