Seahawks Veteran Forward Set to Join Lumberjacks this Fall

SOUTH DENNIS, MA -- Eric Honold, a forward for the Seahawks Hockey Club, has committed to Northland College for the fall of 2021.

The 2000-born native of Wantage, NJ recently finished his 2nd and final season with the Seahawks, and in 85 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), Honold tallied 16 goals and 25 assists to his credit.

"Eric was a pleasure to coach over the last two seasons," said Seahawks head coach and general manager Bill Zaniboni. "I'm looking forward to watching him bring his game to the next level, and seeing how he continues to develop once he gets there."

While Honold is just the first EHL player to commit to Northland from this past season, he's also the 10th player in league history to choose the school in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). Of those 10 NCAA Commitments to Northland, Honold is the 4th Seahawk, joining Jackson Breton from last year's roster, and Korey Muzzy and Josh Repaal, both of whom played on the inaugural Seahawks team back in 2017-18.

"I am very excited to continue my academic and athletic careers at Northland College," said Honold. "I am thankful for the Seahawks program in the Eastern Hockey League for helping guide me to the next level. I would like to thank Coach Zaniboni, my teammates, my family, and my billet families for the support throughout my junior career."
