BOSTON, MA -- Last week, the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) announced the “Krampade All-American Scholars" for the 2020-21 season. Due to the effects of COVID-19, the AHCA adopted revised criteria for this year’s honorees. To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.6 GPA for each semester, regardless of whether the school’s hockey team was able to play this season or not.

“We made a decision to include all hockey players who met the academic standard, whether their team was allowed to play or not,” said Joe Bertagna, the Executive Director of the AHCA and Commissioner of the EHL. “Those who were denied a chance to compete have already been disadvantaged and we did not want to add to their situation.”

Below you'll find the link with access to the full list of honorees. In total, 119 of the 706 players spent at least a single season developing in the Eastern Hockey (EHL).

"There is a great sense of pride that we feel as a league when we see all the names of past players on this list," said Neil Ravin, the Associate Commissioner of the EHL. "Whenever I'm speaking with prospective players and families, I make it a point to discuss the emphasis that we put on our players becoming collegiate athletes and students. These results prove how valuable of a job our coaches do for all of the players that come walking through the door."

Congratulations to all of the Division II and III players recognized this past week by the AHCA.

Jake Adkins (New Hampshire Avalanche) and Richie McCartney (Philadelphia Revolution) headline a strong list of EHL alumni recently honored by the AHCA.
