Upcoming Season to Feature College Week, Classic, and EHLP Game

BOSTON, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) is pleased to announce the details for the 2021-22 All-Star Series featuring three events spread out throughout this upcoming season.

"I'm beyond excited to make this announcement today," said Neil Ravin, the Associate Commissioner of the EHL. "Putting the EHL All-Star Team together each season is one of many highlights that takes place on an annual basis, and we now finally get a chance to build off of the best showing we've ever put on for the NCAA Division III programs. Along with the event that has become a mainstay for our league, we are adding on two more events this season, that will give even more players a chance to get showcased this upcoming year."

EHL College Week

The EHL's College Week returns for its 4th installment, having previously taken place during the 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20 seasons. The schedule for this upcoming October is set up identically to what had been planned for last October (2020), but had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

College Week will begin on Wednesday, October 20th when the EHL All-Star Team heads out to Fitchburg State to take on the Falcons at 6:00 pm. Back in October of 2019, the action for Team EHL also began out in Fitchburg, with a game that ended in a 1-1 tie between the All-Stars and the Falcons.

On Thursday the 21st, the EHL All-Star Team will enjoy a day off while touring a pair of college campuses in downtown Boston.

Fast-forward to Friday the 22nd, and Team EHL's second matchup of the week puts the All-Stars up against Curry College for the first time in league history. Puck drop for game #2 is set for 6:50 pm at Boch Ice Center in Dedham, MA.

Last, but not least, the EHL All-Star Team will wrap things up with a 4:00 pm matchup against UMass Boston on Saturday the 23rd, the staple program of the College Week. This fall will mark the 4th contest in league history between the EHL and the Beacons. UMB is the only program that has been a part of the event in every season that the games have taken place.

With last year's event getting cancelled, this year's EHL All-Star Team has the challenge of raising the bar from the 2019-20 team that posted a 1-1-1 record against Fitchburg State, Salem State, and UMass Boston.

EHL All-Star Classic

New this season, the EHL All-Star Classic is mini two-day tournament that is set to take place on November 21st and 22nd at the Ice Den Arena in Hooksett, NH.

From the 18 Eastern Hockey League (EHL) teams, 60 total skaters and 8 goaltenders will be selected and split up into four different squads for the event.

Each of the four teams will play two games per day (Sunday and Monday), each featuring a pair of 20-minute periods.

The last two matchups of the tournament on Monday, will feature a Consolation Game and Championship Game to wrap-up the event.

EHLP All-Star Game

Similar to the EHL All-Star Classic, this season, the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) will drop the puck on the division's first-ever league-wide All-Star Game. The featured matchup will take place at 8:00 pm on Saturday, January 15th, the first night of the final showcase of the year in Exeter, NH.

The Rinks at Exeter will welcome the top 30 skaters and 4 goaltenders from around the league for a single exhibition contest.

Similar to all of the showcase games that will be taking place in Exeter that weekend, the contest will feature a pair of 25-minute halves for all of the top players in the EHLP.
